Who Is The Vice Pro Soft For?
If you are a low handicap player who demands feel and performance in a golf ball, you will love the Vice-pro soft.
The Vice Pro Soft is especially a good fit for the mid to low swing speed player.
Very often, the player that scores low but has a slower swing speed will have a hard time finding a good golf ball.
Most golf balls for the low scoring golfer are very high compression for the fast swing speeds.
There are plenty of golfers shooting below 80 that don’t have swing speeds over 110 mph.
The Vice Pro Soft has a great combination of both feel and distance.
The Three-piece design is part of what makes it appeal to the better player.

Feel
Feel is probably the main reason that people are using the Vice Pro Soft.
Since the Vice Pro Soft is a three-piece golf ball with a Urethane Cover, it has a very soft feel.
The softer feeling golf balls help players to have more control over their short game shots.
One reason the better players love a golf ball with a good feel is for putting.
When putting, especially on the shorter putts, you don’t want to feel as though you have a real “hit” at impact.
When this happens, it almost seems like the ball jumps off the clubface and could get started on the wrong path.
When you play with a softer golf ball, the ball tends to come off the clubface a bit softer and stay on the line that you need it to.
Another excellent spot for feel is when you are hitting your wedge shots onto the green.
As most golfers know, there are so many different ways to hit a wedge shot, and because of that, players need to have a good feel.
They need to understand how the golf ball responds and reacts when it comes off the clubface.
Spin
The Vice Pro Soft golf ball has a low spin off the tee and higher spin around the greens.
You will notice that most golf balls that are geared to the better player are going to have these same features.
Golfers with medium swing speeds still want all the roll they can get off the tee, but when it comes to their approach shots and the chips, they do not want to have roll.
This is the part in the game that requires spin.
If you watch professional golfers play on television, sometimes they will land a ball in the back of the green, and it will back up.
When it backs up, that is because of spin.
Spin is something that faster swinging players create naturally.
For those players that are medium or slower swinging, it can be harder to create that spin.
Since the Vice Pro Soft golf balls are created for the medium swinging player, they are designed to have higher spin rates around the greens.
If you are picky about the spin a golf ball offers, you will be happy with the Vice Pro Soft, and it’s capabilities.
Driving
As we have mentioned a few times, the Vice Pro Soft is not a very high compression golf ball.
The compression is about 65.
This works perfectly for the mid swing speed player that still needs some extra distance off the tee.
There is no question that the Vice Pro Soft is a golf ball that can give you a great distance.
Some people are afraid that softer type golf balls will not fly as far, but this is not the case.
As long as your swing speed fits in the range for using the Vice Pro Soft golf ball, then you could potentially increase in distance by switching to this ball.
Since the Vice Pro Soft is a three-piece design with a High Energy Core, you will get explosive distance off the tee.
The dimple design on the Vice Pro Soft is to try and give a player more stability while the ball is in the air.
If you have ever noticed your golf ball waiver on a drive or a long iron shot, the Vice is designed not to do that.
Short Game
The Vice Pro Soft is a great golf ball when it comes to spin around the greens.
Luckily even though this golf ball has reduced spin off the tee, it has plenty of spin around the greens.
If you are hitting a wedge shot into the green, you will have no issues getting it to stop where you want it to.
In addition to the spin, you will also notice the excellent feel that you have with this golf ball and your wedges.
You need to feel to determine if you are going to hit a shot 20 yards or 30 yards etc.
The Vice Pro Soft Golf ball is a great choice.
Putting
The Vice Pro Soft has a very thin cover, and it has a soft feel to it.
This cover makes putts around the green easier because the ball does not jump off the clubface.
Since the ball does not jump, it is easier to get a more solid and true roll on the ball.
You will notice that great players tend to talk about getting a true roll on their putts.
To get a true roll, you need a combination of a great putting stroke and an excellent golf ball.
Durability
The Vice Pro Soft comes with a urethane cover and a durable 336 dimple design.
Just because this golf ball is soft does not mean that it is not durable.
When you purchase the Vice Pro Soft, you can be assured that you will get through your round without many cuts and scrapes on the ball.
There have been some instances of people saying that the cover of the golf ball cracked.
This is really rare, and Vice has been known to handle the issues without question.
Most players like to get two to three rounds out of a golf ball, and you can certainly expect that with the Vice Pro Soft.
Pricing
The Vice Pro Soft is priced extremely reasonably.
Generally speaking, a golf ball for a lower handicap player usually costs over $40.00.
This is not the case with the Vice Pro Soft.
Anytime that you can find a great feeling golf ball that also has plenty of distance, you should take advantage of it.
You will have a tough time telling the difference between this golf ball and a golf ball priced at the top of the market.
Color
The Vice Pro Soft golf ball is available in lime, red, and white.
The good news about the colors that the Vice Pro is available is that they are all a matte finish.
Sometimes if golf balls do not have the matte finish, they can be a bit hard to see with the glare.
Going with a colored golf ball is to reduce glare and make the ball easier to see both while in flight and when it is in the rough.
If you want something more standard, you can choose the white golf ball instead.
Personally, we like the lime-colored in the Vice Pro Soft the best.
Another reason that the colored golf balls are an excellent choice is that they can give players better focus.
If you have a hard time with the focus on the golf course, sometimes a colored golf ball can give you a reason to turn on your brain and get ready for your swing.
Some golfers enjoy the red golf ball, and they have been well tested and claim to be very easy to see.
We think the lime and the white are better choices.
Other Vice Golf Balls
The Vice Pro Soft is not the only golf ball that Vice makes.
Vice just recently introduced a brand new line of Vice Pro Soft golf balls, called the Vice Pro Soft Hue.
The Hue is a very similar golf ball, but it has fewer dimples than the Pro Soft.
Overall the ball will perform almost the same, but the coloring is quite different.
The colors are Peach, Light Blue, and Coral, and they have coordinating alignment lines imprinted on the ball.
The large dimple design gives players a bit more surface area that will hopefully result in a more controlled ball flight.
So far, we don’t see too many benefits to the Vice Pro Soft Hue that you don’t get with the Vice Pro Soft.
Of course, you will need to decide on the color that suits your game best, but that seems to be the most significant difference.
Are The Vice Pro Soft Golf Balls Good?
The Vice Pro Soft is a perfect golf ball.
We love the fact that they found a hole in the market for players who have a hard time finding a player’s golf ball for lower swing speeds.
Not every great golfer has very high swing speeds, and it is good that Vice Pro Soft can help those players get the performance that they need from their golf ball.
The other thing that makes the Vice Pro Soft Golf balls suitable is that they are reasonably priced.
There are some other very similar golf balls selling for over $50 a dozen.
Conclusion
Hopefully, our review of the Vice Pro Soft golf balls helped you decide if these were the right golf balls for you.
The middle to low handicap golfer with a middle of the road swing speeds will see the most benefit with the Vice Pro Soft.
If you have a very fast swing speed, but you like the feel of the Vice Pro Soft, you may want to look into the Vice Pro.
The Vice Pro will be a higher compression golf ball better suited for the faster swinging golfer.
