Whether you are traveling to the golf course on a motorcycle, bike, or moped, you will need to find a way to carry your clubs.
If you have a moped or a scooter, it can be a great way to travel to the golf course.
Although it will take a bit of practice and setup to get this working properly, it is entirely possible.
Carrying golf clubs on your moped can be done in 3 different ways.
How To Carry Golf Clubs On A Moped
There are trailers you can purchase that will attach to your moped.
These are not very common, and you may have some trouble finding one that works with your particular model.
Mainly this would be like a pull cart attached to a moped.
You will have to make sure that you have this attached strongly and that your clubs are secured, so nothing falls out.
You may have to watch when going around corners, depending on how you have the trailer setup.
2. BackPack Strap
Another way to carry your golf clubs is to use the backpack strap on your stand or carry bag.
You will adjust the strap to work just as you would while on the golf course and wear it while you play.
Make sure that your bag is balanced and that you are aware of how far the bag sticks out on either side.
You will likely have to empty your bag a bit to make this process safe.
You do not want to cause yourself any harm while trying to ride with a golf bag on your back.
If your golf bag does not come with the right strap, but you think this method of carrying is possible, you can purchase a strap to add to your bag.
3. Strap To The Moped
The third way you can carry your golf bag on your moped is to strap the bag to the bike itself.
This possibility will depend mostly on the type of moped you have.
If you have a cargo storage container or something similar, you may not be able to accomplish carrying the bag this way.
It’s essential that whatever straps you use that you have them anchored to the moped correctly.
Tips For Safely Carrying Your Golf Clubs On Your Moped
Regardless of how you decide to carry your golf clubs on your moped, some tips can make this much easier.
If you are only thinking of doing this one time, you won’t need to go to any extreme measures.
However, if this is going to be a general practice for you, then it makes a lot of sense to do it right.
It is not an ideal option to take with you on a moped.
Even if you invent a handy trailer feature, the cart bag is likely still more cumbersome than you need.
Most golfers are delighted with their stand and carry golf bags.
They are generally less expensive, still offer plenty of room for all your gear, and they are much lighter in weight.
There is an additional type of golf bag called a Sunday Bag that may work as well.
Sunday golf bags are designed to hold about 6-8 golf clubs and make it easy to fit a few holes in.
If this is all you are looking to do, you may very easily be able to use a Sunday bag on your moped.
The Sunday bag would be perfect for strapping on the moped, but it can be difficult to carry as it usually does not come with the backpack strap.
In addition to the type of golf bag you have, it is also important not to keep your golf bag too heavy.
If you have extra golf clubs or golf balls in your bag, empty them before you head to the golf course.
Chances are there are some things in your bag that you don’t need.
Also, try to make sure that your golf bag has a balanced feel to it.
Put it on and carry it around for a bit before you put it on your back for the ride.
Make sure it doesn’t hit the seat when you are riding.
If the bag feels too light on one side like it may tip, you can try and add weight to balance it out.
You will undoubtedly have some wind gusts when riding your moped.
If you plan for these and you are ready for them, it should not have a significant effect on you.
Be prepared that your golf clubs may move away from your back and then hit you in the back when riding.
This is usually not going to be with enough force to be dangerous, but it’s best to anticipate that this could happen.
Even if you are strapping the bag to the moped, the wind gusts could affect the way you drive or how strongly your clubs are attached.
Make sure that you have things secure, and if you doubt it at any point on your trip, pull over and make an adjustment.
Almost all golf bags come with a rain cover.
However, if you decide to transport your golf clubs while on your moped you should always put the rain cover on your bag.
The rain cover is usually just a snap-on protective cover, and it will keep your golf clubs in your bag.
The last thing you want is to be driving down the highway and lose a seven iron.
This is dangerous for you and those around you as well.
If your golf bag did not come with a rain cover, you could always purchase one as an add on.
