Feel
Feel is very important in golf balls.
In the years past, some of the best distance golf balls were very hard.
These golf balls felt like rocks when you got on the putting green.
It’s hard for players to do what they want with the golf ball when playing with a tough ball.
When golfers talk about feel, they are almost always talking about the short game.
When you get near the green, you will be able to feel the way the ball comes off the clubface.
With the Supersoft, you get an incredibly soft feel.
This is achieved by a new trionomer cover while still keeping the core ultra-low compression.
Spin
Callaway did not have an easy task on their hands when it comes to spin.
A Callaway Supersoft golf ball has low spin from the driver and medium spin around the greens.
Low spin on the driver is critical because you will want all the extra distance that you can get.
A drive that flies two hundred yards and then plugs in its pitch mark could partially be due to the driver you are using, or it could be the ball.
Mid to high handicappers want a low spin on a driver.
In addition to the roll-out, less spin will increase the forgiveness of your drive as well.
If you happen to get a little bit of a slice spin on a ball and it is a high spin ball, you could lose control of that shot quite quickly.
When it comes to spin around the greens, it is best to have the ability to spin the ball.
Of course, you can’t magically make a golf ball start spinning around the greens when it is an overall low spin ball.
However, with the Supersoft, they used a new Trionomer cover that gives you plenty of ability to spin the ball on the shorter shots.
You should be able to stop your shots when necessary, and you will have the feel needed to learn where the ball needs to land in relation to the hole.
Driving
The Callaway Supersoft golf ball is a distance golf ball.
It was created with distance in mind.
If you feel as though your current golf ball is not flying as far as it should, there is a chance the Supersoft could help.
The reason this is a distance golf ball is that it is very low compression.
Even players with a slower swing speed should be able to hit the Supersoft quite far.
The ultra-low compression core gives some incredible ball speeds.
With the combination of the low compression, high ball speeds, and low spin, you get plenty of distance off the tee.
The Callaway Supersoft comes equipped with the HEX aerodynamics dimple pattern.
This is fairly standard on all Callaway golf balls as they have found the Hex design significantly reduces drag.
All golf ball manufacturers will have their ideas as to what the dimple pattern is going to work best.
It is interesting, however, that even on the high-end Callaway golf balls, you will find the Hex shaped dimples.
That must mean something!
With an improved low drag hex aerodynamic pattern, you will see your ball stay on a more direct line.
The ball will have an easier time launching higher, which will lead to increased distance.
The higher ball slight is a good thing when it comes to your ability to land a ball accurately on a green.
Short Game
Since the Callaway Supersoft is considered to be a distance golf ball, the short game benefits are not usually quite as good.
However, the new Trionomer cover formulation has changed this.
The cover is soft enough that most players can get plenty of greenside control and spin.
All of this without having to sacrifice distance from the tee.
Certainly, golfers who want a pure short game golf ball should look into a higher-end four or five-piece golf ball.
Doing so would probably require a slightly faster swing speed and the knowledge that you may give up a few yards of distance.
The Supersoft golf ball has been around for some time, but it keeps getting better and better.
For the golfer that wants the mix of distance and feel the Supersoft is an excellent choice.
Putting
The Trionomer cover on the Callaway Supersoft has a great soft feel to it.
When you putt, you should notice the transfer of energy from the putter to the golf ball happens quite seamlessly.
The one thing we would like to see the option for on the Supersoft is the Triple Track Alignment system.
The Triple Track Alignment gives players the opportunity to quickly line up their putts without having to draw extra lines or marks on the ball.
Triple Track also makes it much easier to see if your putts are staying on Track and rolling the way they should towards the hole.
This may be something that Callaway decides to add to the Supersoft at some point.
Durability
Playing with a golf ball that cuts after a few holes is very frustrating.
Golf balls can be expensive, and you want to at least get eighteen holes out of the new ball.
Most players try to get two or three rounds out of a golf ball.
A modern-day ball should be able to hold up to at least this much play.
Although the Callaway Supersoft has the soft Trionomer cover, you will notice that it is quite strong.
You should have no issues playing several rounds with one of these golf balls.
For the price they are currently offered, this is a box of golf balls that provides a tremendous value.
Color
The Callaway Supersoft golf ball is available in many colors.
Some of the colors are going to be a matte finish, and others will be just the standard paint.
The yellow and the white are standard, and the green, red, orange, and pink have the matte finish.
If you have not heard of the matte finish on a golf ball, it is quite helpful.
The matte removes some of the glare.
The whole concept behind the color of the golf ball is that it is easier to see when setting up, while it is in the air and when you look for your shot.
Many people are shocked by how well you can see a red and an orange golf ball on the course.
In addition to the ease of use with this golf ball, you will notice that the colored golf ball helps you distinguish your shot from your playing competitors.
Gone are the days of putting two dots on your ball and trying to see if it is yours or your friends.
Supersoft Magna
You may have noticed that there is also a golf ball called the Supersoft Magna.
The Supersoft and the Supersoft Magna are quite similar, but it is essential to know the difference before you purchase.
Although this may sound a bit strange, the Supersoft Magna is more significant than the traditional Supersoft.
The Magna is still a conforming golf ball, and the USGA has approved it, but it is larger.
If you play with oversized clubs and you think an oversized golf ball could help your game as well, the Magna is a great choice.
The Magna retails for the same price as the Supersoft, so you won’t have to choose one over the other because of the price.

Who Is The Supersoft For?
The Callaway Supersoft golf balls are built for the medium to slow swing speed player.
They will best be suited for the mid to high handicapper looking for both distance and some soft feel around the greens.
If you are a low handicap player with lots of clubhead speed, you may not enjoy the performance the Supersoft has to offer.
The pricing on the Supersoft makes them an excellent choice for the budget-conscious golfer as well.
Are Callaway Supersoft Balls Good?
If your golf game and your player profile fit for who the Supersoft golf balls were built for, then you will like them.
Overall they are a good golf ball that is built to help the average golfer have an easier time with golf.
They succeed when it comes to producing longer distance and better feel around the greens.
They are not the best for ultimate greenside performance, but they don’t claim to be either.
What is the difference between Callaway Supersoft and Chrome soft?
The Callaway Chrome Soft is the higher end golf ball.
It costs more money, has higher compression and different spin technology than the Supersoft.
If you have played the Supersoft golf ball for quite some time and feel like your scores are starting to decrease, it may be time to look at the Chrome soft.
The Chrome soft is going to give you much more spin around the greens and perhaps better feel all around.
You will notice that the Chrome Soft is long off the tee, but this will only apply if you have a medium swing speed.
For the really slow swinging players, the Chrome Soft will be difficult to compress and therefore end up costing you some yards.
The Chrome Soft is a four-piece golf ball, and traditionally there is a lot more depth of performance with a four-piece ball.
The cover on the Chrome Soft is a Urethane cover that will give you plenty of durability and also a soft feel.
However, the Trionomer cover on the Supersoft probably feels a bit softer than the Chrome soft.
Do Softer Golf Balls Go Further?
Softer golf balls go further for players that cant compress a hard golf ball.
If you have a slower swing speed and you try and hit a higher compression golf ball, you will end up losing some distance.
Your speed will not allow you to compress the golf ball fully, and because of that, the ball won’t get It’s full potential as far as distance is concerned.
The best golf ball on the market is the one that matches your swing speed the best.
If speedy swinging players try to use a very low compression golf ball, they are not necessarily going to get more distance.
Since a golf ball will only compress so much, it will reach a point where the player maxes out on distance.
At this point, it would make more sense to go to a harder golf ball.
Conclusion
The Callaway Supersoft golf ball is an excellent choice for the mid handicapper looking to improve the distance and feel they get out of a golf ball.
If you want to hit it a long way but also feel like you can control the ball around the green, the Supersoft is an effective and affordable choice.
