You might be wondering how you can make your club car golf cart go faster.

There is certainly a way to make it go faster with some speed adjustments.

Here are the speed codes for the Club Car

Speed Code 1 = 8 Mph
Speed Code 2 = 11 Mph
Speed Code 3 = 14.7 Mph
Speed Code 4 = 19.7 Mph
Speed Code 5 = 21+Mph

Club Car usually comes in stock with the lowest speed code.

How To Change The Speed Setting On A Club Car Golf Cart

If you want to change your speed code, you will need to find a local golf cart dealer to change this speed setting for you.

You could try to do this yourself, but would need an expensive Curtis handheld programmer.

They usually charge a fee that can range from $75-$100.

Dealers will usually set the Speed Codes 1-3 for free.

Speed Code 4, 5 has to be purchased through a Club Car dealer and ordered for your specific Controller and serial number.

Club car dealers have to bill people for the code because Club Car bills the dealer for the code.

About Speed Code 4

Speed code 4 just allows the motor to run at a higher RPM.

It does nothing to increase power or any other aspect of the system.

It just raises the rev limit.

The Club Car system will allow you to enter the controller serial number along with the vehicle serial number.

The dealer will then receive their shipment of parts.

The Private Speed Code “Kit” will include instructions and a booklet, and a sticker with the Code A, Code B, and Code C for your specific golf cart, and a safety sticker.

When you upgrade to this to kit, you must agree to install a safety sticker on the golf cart.

Here is an example of changing the speed code 5 on a club car

Speed code 5 will most likely remove all rpm limits.

Great video on the speed sensor. Quick question – My Club car, all new customize but on a 2011 frame, had a great top speed above 26MPHs. The magnet/ speed sensor went bad and needed to be replaced. Now my cart won’t go pass 20 MPH. Could the sensor be wrong? Or do I need to have the speed code re set to 5. To reset it do I need to purchase a new private speed code kit? or the
